Las Cruces police are investigating a Wednesday evening shooting that injured two pedestrians near the 1900 block of north Main Street.
About 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, Las Cruces police learned that two pedestrians were struck by gunfire as they crossed the road westbound near the 1900 block of north Main Street. Police and fire personnel arrived to find 36-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man who were struck by gunfire.
Both victims were transported to an area hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Investigators learned two men, one believed to be the shooter, fled east along a pathway that parallels a drainage ditch. Police searched for the two men but were unable to locate them.
One of the suspects was described as a Hispanic man who is short. The second suspect was described as Hispanic, tall and skinny.
